SynergyEHR vs SimplePractice
SimplePractice is a well-loved, easy tool for solo and small therapy practices. It's also software you operate yourself. Here's the honest comparison if you'd rather have the billing done for you.
The short version
SimplePractice is a per-clinician subscription with a well-earned reputation for ease of use in behavioral health. Its core plans are self-service — you submit and chase your own claims — and several capabilities are paid add-ons. SynergyEHR gives you the EHR free and works your claims for you across specialties.

Software you operate, or a billing team that operates for you
SimplePractice hands you excellent self-service tools: you create the claims, submit them, and follow up on denials yourself. For a solo therapist comfortable doing their own billing, that works well and the monthly cost is modest.
SynergyEHR is for practices that would rather not. We work the claims, appeal the denials and chase the aged A/R — paid on what we collect — and the EHR licence is free. And where SimplePractice's full-service option covers in-network claims only, we bill all payers.

An honest note
For a solo or very small behavioral-health practice that wants the simplest possible self-service tool and does its own billing, SimplePractice is genuinely excellent — it's one of the easiest systems to learn, with a strong client portal and therapy-specific templates. SynergyEHR makes more sense when you'd rather hand the billing to a team, when you bill out-of-network or across specialties, or when per-clinician and add-on fees start to add up as you grow.
